Every year we make a particular effort to attend the D&AD New Blood graduate exhibition in London and this year was no exception. For those of you that don’t know what that is, it’s where the creme de la creme of design graduate students from colleges and universities all over the country head to show off the fruits of their final year labour.

Josie Phillips – Chazzers

The Unknown of Charity Shops features the exploration of shopping in charity shops with the magazine/lookbook ‘Chazzers’ celebrating the fashion of second-hand shopping. ‘Chazzers’ is to entice the average shopper to look again when passing a charity shop window, through lookbook shoots only styled in charity shop clothing, to interviews and ‘how to’ articles will persuade and guide shoppers to change their perception on second-hand clothing.

Matthew Wallace – Einstein On The Beach

Matthew explores the complexity of music and it’s value as language, and relates it to my design practices. Using Phillip Glass’ 1975 experimental opera ‘Einstein at the Beach’ as source material, the project explores how music can be visualised through typographic and layout systems.

Jonathan Burrage – Capitalism Is Failing

A short motion graphic surrounding the ideas needed to produce a framework for a post capitalist society. The motion graphic makes use of low poly models and matte textures as a style. Everything was created within cinema 4D with a total production time of 260 hours.

Last year at the D&AD New Blood Exhibition we met Tom Gillanders who came a worked with us on a 2 month placement, find out what he thought of the whole experience here.
