Our Process

By interviewing key stakeholders in the business, we were able to glean a real understanding of Bramley & Gage’s identity, which greatly influenced the branding process. Previous artwork had been created in-house so there was a real sense of ownership from the directors and it was extremely important to for us to maintain the values that the brand had built up over the years. Having these conversations with Bramley & Gage’s team allowed us to keep their heritage at the forefront of the range. We started by commissioning a botanical artist to create bespoke illustrations of the fruits used in the products alongside serving suggestions for each flavour. These illustrations were then used in the design of the labels and rolled out into other branded materials to create a consistent look and feel for the range. The brand’s traditional values are clear throughout every touchpoint: from the texture of the paper to the cork stoppers and stamps.

The Result

We worked closely with the client to choose a contemporary and recognisable new bottle. The blue glass is a nod to the Bristol based heritage of the brand and the proportions of the bottle are now more practical for retail space. The bold, blue glass of the bottle also creates a powerful shelf presence. We decided to keep the layout of the label simple and clutter free, focusing on creating an iconic ‘6’ mark that could be used across the entire range. The ‘6’ itself houses seven intricate cogs, each of which contains a seed representing the individual botanicals that are combined to form the strikingly smooth taste of 6 O’Clock Gin.

"The rebrand of Bramley & Gage has played a vital part in the growth of the business, GC's creativity has shone through in all aspects of the project and I look forward to continue working with them in the future."
